Lorraine MacLarty is a Central Coast photographer whose practice is grounded in photography with a purpose, with particular interests in documentary and portraiture.

She studied photography at the Australian Centre for Photography in Sydney in the early 2000s.  Beginning with 35mm photography, she later moved to medium and large format, developing a particular passion for the considered and deliberate approach of large format photography.

Alternative print processes are now a major focus of her practice. Lorraine has worked extensively with cyanotype, salt printing and carbon printing, drawn to the distinctive qualities of each process and the opportunity to create photographs as unique, hand-crafted prints.
